Orlando Pirates fixtures: Bucs face Sekhukhune first
Orlando Pirates face a tricky start to the 2025/56 Betway Premiership season in August, having lost to three of the teams during the previous campaign.
The in-form Bafana attacker joined the Buccaneers from Polokwane City in the off-season and punished his former team in a 2-0 MTN8 quarter-final win where he scored and won a penalty converted by Patrick Maswanganyi.
Appollis scooped the Man of the Match award for his performance and after the game, he praised his new teammates for the result.
He said in the Citizen: "It was a very positive result and I am happy for today.
"But most importantly I have to give credit to the whole team. Everyone worked hard and all the stuff we did in pre-season came together."
Pirates will now face Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals, while the other semi-finals sees Sekhkhune United face Stellenbosch.
"It was amazing to see a packed stadium," and I am very happy to be at Pirates," added Appollis.
"We must continue to work in training and to do our best."
First up though, the Soweto giants play Sekhukhune United in their Betway Premiership opener at home this weekend.
