PSG boss Luis Enrique frustrated after dropping points to FC Lorient

With just three matches remaining, PSG still hold a six-point advantage, but the dropped points made for a tense afternoon in Paris.

Luis Enrique opted to rotate his squad, mindful of the upcoming second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

The decision appeared justified given last Tuesday's thrilling 5-4 first-leg victory, a result that left the head coach highly satisfied but also presented a challenge in refocusing his players for domestic duties.

PSG made a bright start as Ibrahim Mbaye opened the scoring early on, only for Pablo Pagis to respond almost immediately for Lorient. The hosts regained control in the 62nd minute when substitute Warren Zaire-Emery restored their lead, but Aiyegun Tosin struck again to level the match.

Late drama followed as PSG thought they had a chance to secure all three points, only for a penalty decision to be overturned by VAR.

"It's tough to switch back to league duty after such an important match in a fantastic atmosphere; motivationally, it's a challenge. This result is disappointing because we really needed the three points," said Enrique after the FC Lorient match, as quoted by Goal.

"We only fielded two players who started on Tuesday evening, and we tried to control the game as we wanted to. We wanted to win, but we missed that chance."
