Igor Tudor full of praise for Juventus after win against Atalanta
Juventus head coach Igor Tudor was delighted by the performance of his side in a 2-1 over Atalanta ahead of their opening Serie A game next weekend.
The Bergamo outfit have pinpointed Gosens as their top choice to bolster the left flank ahead of the new Serie A season, viewing his blend of attacking flair and defensive grit as ideal for Gian Piero Gasperini's high-octane system.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta tabled an initial offer worth around 12 million euros, but Fiorentina wasted no time in turning it down flat.
Romano has reported: "Understand Atalanta made contact for Robin Gosens as priority target at left back. Twelve million euros initial proposal turned down by Fiorentina as they consider Gosens as a key player."
Fiorentina are standing firm, seeing the 31-year-old as a cornerstone of their squad after his impressive adaptation since joining from Union Berlin.
The Viola have no intention of letting him go on the cheap, especially with his leadership and goal threat proving vital in recent campaigns.
Gosens, who enjoyed a stellar spell at Atalanta from 2017 to 2022, scoring 29 goals in 157 appearances before moves to Inter Milan and beyond, has long been admired by his old club. However, any deal now hinges on Atalanta returning with a substantially improved proposal to tempt Fiorentina into talks.
While fan reactions on X have been mixed, with some Atalanta supporters thrilled at the prospect of a homecoming and others questioning the timing, no fresh bids have emerged as of August 16.
Meanwhile, Torino have also shown interest in Gosens, reportedly pushing for a loan with an option to buy, but Atalanta remain the frontrunners in this chase.
