The Teranga Lions have been excellent so far this competition and ended top of Group D with seven points before seeing off Sudan 3-1 in their last 16 clash and Mali 1-0 in the last eight.
But in Egypt they face a team determined to win their first AFCON since 2010 and redress their failure to overcome Senegal in the 2021 final where they lost 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw.
Speaking ahead of the game, Thiaw explained that his team will need to be at their best to progress to this year's final,
He said on Flash Score: "We are preparing for this match with the utmost rigour, leaving no room for distractions that could derail our focus.
"We know we are facing a very strong Egyptian side, arguably the most star-studded team in Africa, one that is tactically disciplined and mentally seasoned by years of playing at this level.
"We approach this challenge with great respect, but also with real ambition.
"We are determined to win and reach the final. Above all, we remain faithful to our playing philosophy, because we believe it is the key that can make the difference."
