Thabang Monare thanks Sekhukhune United as new chapter beckons

The experienced midfielder joined the Limpopo-based outfit in June 2024 after leaving Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2023/24 season, bringing with him a wealth of experience gained over many years in the PSL.

Although his stay at the club lasted just one season, Monare played an important role in helping Sekhukhune remain among the league's most competitive sides.

His leadership and experience proved invaluable as the club continued to challenge for domestic honors and strengthen its position among South Africa's top teams.

Announcing his departure on Wednesday, the former Buccaneers midfielder shared a heartfelt message to the players, technical staff and management.

"To the players, technical staff and the management of Sekhukhune United FC, I would like to thank every single one of you for the beautiful moments we shared together and of course we had our downs as well but that is what made us stronger," Monster wrote on his Facebook page.

"In football we never say goodbye. Until we meet again."

With his departure now confirmed, Monare will be hoping to secure a new club as teams continue to fine-tune their squads ahead of the upcoming season.
An official announcement from Sekhukhune United regarding his departure is expected in due course.

Meanwhile, Babina Noko are set to enter a new era, with former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze widely expected to be unveiled as the club's new head coach.
