Vinicius Junior has 'no plans' of leaving Real Madrid

Vinicius Junior has 'no plans' of leaving Real Madrid

The Brazilian forward has been one of the standout performers in recent weeks, responding strongly after a difficult spell earlier in the 2025–26 season. Under former boss Xabi Alonso, Vinicius struggled for consistency and even faced frustration from sections of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd.

However, his form has improved sharply under Alvaro Arbeloa. The 25-year-old has delivered when it mattered most, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in his last 14 matches. Alongside Kylian Mbappe, he has re-established himself as a key figure in Madrid's attack during a decisive stage of the campaign.

Speaking while on international duty with Brazil ahead of a friendly against France tonight at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Vinicius made his position clear.

"I only think about Real Madrid and being there for a long time," he said.

His comments come amid wider transfer talk, including reports linking players such as Antoine Griezmann with moves to Major League Soccer. Vinicius, however, has no plans to follow that path anytime soon.

Behind the scenes, discussions are already progressing over a new contract. Madrid are understood to be working on a long-term extension that could keep the forward at the club for another five seasons.

After a testing period earlier in the campaign, Vinicius has responded with authority. Now, both his performances and his words have sent a strong message - his future remains firmly in Madrid.
