Zamalek coach Yannick Ferrera delivers brutal message to striker Seifeddine Jaziri
Zamalek head coach Yannick Ferrera has delivered a brutal verdict on striker Seifeddine Jaziri's future, insisting the Tunisian forward has no place in his plans.
The 44-year-old tactician has signed a one-year deal to lead the White Knights into the 2025/26 season, with the agreement finalised by sporting director John Edward, according to Panafricafootball.com.
Ferrera's hiring represents more than just a change in leadership - it's a calculated move to bring structure and tactical clarity to a side that has struggled for consistency in recent campaigns.
Known for his methodical approach and emphasis on player development, Ferrera is expected to inject discipline and long-term planning into Zamalek's dressing room.
His coaching credentials are grounded in solid achievements. He led Standard Liege to the Belgian Cup title in 2016 and steered Sint-Truiden to promotion by winning the Belgian Second Division in 2015.
His domestic experience in Belgium also includes stints at Charleroi, KV Mechelen, and Waasland-Beveren.
He has also coached in the Saudi Pro League, with stints at Al-Fateh and Al-Riyadh, and he also had a brief spell in Cyprus with Omonia.
Most recently, he was in charge of Daring Brussels in Belgium's second tier from March 2024 to April 2025.
For Zamalek, this appointment marks both a reset and a calculated risk - one aimed at rebuilding with a clear vision and steady hand.
As pre-season preparations get underway, Ferrera's challenge will be to blend his European tactical discipline with the high expectations of Zamalek's passionate supporters.
The months ahead will reveal whether this move pays dividends or becomes yet another fleeting chapter in the club's coaching carousel.
