Magesi face a challenging start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership in August, as they look to improve on their 13th place finish last season.
Durban City fixtures 2025
August 10: TS Galaxy vs Durban City (Mbombela Stadium)
August 12: Durban City vs Chippa United (Chatsworth Stadium)
August 19: Durban City vs Golden Arrows (Chatsworth Stadium)
August 26: Polokwane City vs Durban City (Old Peter Mokaba Stadium)
August 30: Sekhukhune United vs Durban City (New Peter Mokaba Stadium)
The Betway Premiership newcomers will begin their 2025/26 campaign with a trip away to the hard running TS Galaxy before hosting Chippa United three days later.
The Citizens will then play their first KwaZulu-Natal derby against a younger looking Golden Arrows squad before heading off to Limpopo to face a tricky Polokwane City.
City end the month of August with a tough challenge against last season's fourth best team in the top-flight division Sekhukhune United.
Numerous changes were made to the technical team during the off-season, with the club roping in veteran PSL coach Gavin Hunt to replace Simo Dladla (Now at AmaZulu as assistant coach), with Ernst Middendorp joining the team as Technical Director.
Eight new signings have been made by chairman Farook Kadodia's club including former Cape Town City trio Thabo Nodada, Darren Keet and midfielder Haashim Domingo whilst the club also retained the majority of their National First Division squad.
"It's a new challenge, a new team, the club has got a great history, said Gavin Hunt to SuperSport at the Betway Premiership media launch.
"The history in the 70's and 80's was huge, it was a club that won many trophies and obviously it's a different era now, we understand, but we will try to revive that feeling at the club.
"It's going to be difficult, because you are only as good as the players. If you got decent and good players like we have, then I think you can be competitive," concluded Hunt.
