Nasreddine Nabi plays down Kaizer Chiefs' Betway Premiership title chances
Nasreddine Nabi refused to be drawn in on Kaizer Chiefs title chances this season.
The club also held a pre-season camp in the Netherlands, but their performance raised concerns - managing only one win in five friendlies before returning home to lose the Toyota Cup to Asante Kotoko.
Former Amakhosi winger and current analyst Junior Khanye has voiced his disappointment with both the team's preparation and their new recruits.
"From what I've seen, I'm not impressed with Chiefs' pre-season," Khanye told Soccer Laduma. "Even if results aren't everything at this stage, winning some games is important to build confidence and belief."
Khanye compared Chiefs' showing with Orlando Pirates, who also had mixed results but showed more promise.
"Pirates played four friendlies - they won one, drew two, and lost one. That's more encouraging than what we saw from Chiefs," said Khanye.
He also remains sceptical about the club's signings.
"So far, I'm not convinced by the new players. We'll have to wait and see if they can deliver when it matters."
With the new season looming, Chiefs will hope their latest additions can quickly settle in and prove the doubters wrong.
