Nasreddine Nabi plays down Kaizer Chiefs' Betway Premiership title chances

Nabi took charge of Amakhosi last term and led the club to a ninth-place finish.

The former Young Africans and AS FAR head coach replaced interim Cavin Johnson in the hotseat but struggled to get the best out of his players.

He has since had time to improve his squad with a number of off-season signings and expects a far more competitive Amakhosi this time around.

At the launch of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, the head coach was reported by the Citizen to have said: "I won't talk about the title, we will take it game by game.

"For sure we will be better than last season. It is a tough league, but we know where we have come and where we want to go, and we are looking forward to it."

Chiefs' new signings include Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva and Nkanyiso Shinga.

They kick off their campaign away to Stellenbosch on Sunday.
