The 23-year-old winger arrived from fellow Betway Premiership side TS Galaxy, where he impressed during his stint and earned his first Bafana Bafana call-up in last year's COSAFA Cup. His performances caught the attention of several top-flight clubs, but Pirates ultimately secured his signature.
For Sebelele, the decision was guided by passion as much as ambition.
"Obviously, Orlando Pirates is a big team. Everyone wants to play for Orlando Pirates. One of the reasons I chose the club is because I grew up supporting them," he told Orlandopirates.com.
The versatile attacker understands that representing a club of Pirates' stature comes with high expectations. However, he is determined to embrace the challenge and make his mark in Soweto.
"I know it won't be easy. I have to push, focus on improving, and help the team as much as I can," he added.
Sebelele was named on the bench for Pirates' MTN8 quarter-final victory over Polokwane City last weekend and will now be eager to make his league debut when the Buccaneers host Sekhukhune United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
"Every game is tough in this league, but Orlando Pirates is a big team, and we can't afford to lose to anyone. They are coming to Orlando, so we have to win," he said confidently.
With his boyhood dream now a reality, Sebelele will aim to quickly establish himself as a key figure in the Pirates squad and contribute to their push for silverware this season.
