According to FarPost, the Motsepe Foundation Championship side have signed Clifford, with the winger having previously been linked with the Soweto based club Orlando Pirates.
The 29-year-old Clifford becomes a free agent acquisition following the expiration of his contract with Bulgarian outfit Etar Veliko Tarnovo on June 30, 2025. He initially joined the club in March this year.
During a productive loan spell at Sportist Svoge, also in Bulgaria, Clifford impressed with seven goals and one assist in 33 appearances across all competitions. His performances drew attention from several European clubs, while Pirates reportedly explored a move to add depth to their wide options.
A versatile player capable of operating on both flanks, Clifford began his football development at SuperSport United's youth academy before moving abroad in 2015 to sign for Gudja United in Malta - his first club outside South Africa.
He went on to feature for Mqabba FC in Malta, then enjoyed a successful stint at Lithuanian club Stumbras, where he played a vital role in the club's 2017 Lithuanian Cup triumph.
Clifford's football journey has taken him across Europe, with spells at Condeixa in Portugal, Cape Town All-Stars in South Africa, and FC Van in Armenia.
Now back on South African soil, the well-travelled winger will look to bring his international experience and attacking flair to help Gallants in their push for top-flight promotion.
