The 21-year-old Hungary international is set to become the Reds' second signing of the summer as they bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
The Reds, fresh off clinching the Premier League title in April under manager Arne Slot, have moved quickly in the transfer window.
With extra time to plan, Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and the team have already wrapped up their first deal, bringing in Netherlands international Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for 29.5 million pounds last week. Frimpong was signed to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are expected to depart for Real Madrid.
Now, Liverpool have turned their attention to strengthening the left side of their defence. Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez have been a key target for weeks, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on X that the two clubs were actively working to finalize the deal. "Liverpool and Bournemouth, working again this week to advance soon on Milos Kerkez deal," Romano said.
The breakthrough came when Argentinian journalist Uriel Iugt revealed on X that a full agreement had been reached. "Milos Kerkez will be a new player for #Liverpool. There is full agreement with #Bournemouth for the sale of the pass. The full-back will sign a contract for 5 seasons," Iugt stated.
Liverpool are not stopping there. The Reds have also been pursuing Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz, with two bids already turned down for the Germany international. Leverkusen are holding firm, reportedly demanding up to 150 million euros to let the talented midfielder go.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire told BBC Sport that Liverpool have the financial muscle to make big moves this summer. "Liverpool have been outside of the top 10 spenders on player signings since 2019, but their model is a classic case of being smarter rather than bigger," Maguire said.
"Contract extensions for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are arguably worth far more to the club than a huge investment in untried new players, they certainly have the capacity to spend 200 million pounds, but whether that fits with their model is another matter."
Bournemouth, meanwhile, have shown gratitude to their fans and acknowledged Kerkez's contributions during his time at the club. In a recent statement on X, the Cherries posted, "A massive thank you to our supporters and to Milos for his efforts. We wish him the best in his next chapter."
Liverpool are wasting no time as they aim to build a squad capable of defending their Premier League crown. With Kerkez set to join Frimpong at Anfield, the Reds are making bold moves to ensure they remain a force in English and European football.
